Free Water Baptism Classes take place the last Wednesday of every month. See Dave Stafford for more information.
Water baptism service takes place the First Wednesday of each month. If you have made a commitment to Christ as Savior or recommitment of your life to Christ and wish to follow his biblical example in water baptism, call the church office and let us get you on the schedule for water baptism.
An instruction class concerning the Biblical purpose of water baptism is required and takes place the Wednesday night prior to the Sunday morning baptism service. Also, this class provides practical instruction concerning what will happen and how it will be done. We do this in an effort to help you as a believer to be comfortable and to experience the fulfillment of God's biblical.
COMMITMENT TO CHRIST
Water baptism is not required for salvation. But, it is an act of surrender, obedience and commitment to follow Christ as your example. Water baptism is an outward symbol of what has taken place spiritually in your life when you believed and accepted Christ as your savior and Lord. Your old life was buried with Christ in His death on the cross. The water, and going under the water, symbolizes how when you gave your life to Christ and died to your old life. Your old life was buried in Christ under the blood of Jesus. And at the point of salvation your old life died, at that same moment you were raised unto a new life (symbolized when you are raised from the water).
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life . Rom 6:4 KJV
PUBLIC CONFESSION OF CHRIST
Water baptism is an important time of publicly confessing or announcing that you have given your life to Christ, that you are now a believing Christian. And that you desire to obey God's Word in confessing your salvation before others.
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
Matt 10:32 KJV
